Hello everyone. This is my first dotNetJunkie.com blog entry! My name is Jean-Philippe Couture, and I am a senior student at a local college. Born and raised in snowy land near Quebec City, Canada. I am studying software engineering, working almost exclusively with the Microsoft .NET platform for the last year or so. I am planning to get my Microsoft developer certifications (MCAD, MCSD) before the end of spring 2004.
Before picking up Microsoft .NET, I was an old-school *NIX-based developer that would stay as far away as possible from a Microsoft product. Oh, I once did a very small incursion into the early Java world, which left me with a bad taste in the mouth. I have to admit, that ever since I made the big switch to the Microsoft .NET development framework, I am more and more pleased with Microsoft products.
I am working with a small development team at school to complete our final project, which is going to be using almost every current aspects of what the framework as to offer. I say current, because we don't have access yet to any next-generation technology (ie: Whidbey, Avalon, Indigo, WinFS, Yukon, etc). We are on a somewhat tight schedule, but I am fairly confident in the tools we are using to get the job done on time, and have a great product release by May 2004.
I am looking forward joining this exciting community, as I have been an avid reader for the past 6 months. By the way, I want to thank Donny Mack for hooking me up with this blog. ;-)

A lot of us are scouring the web for designer accessories hoping to find bargains so that we can keep up with the latest must haves without breaking the bank. And among the knock-offs there are still different levels of quality. Some are so bad they are not even worth $5.00 let alone $300 - $500 price tag that you will find on many sites and stores. Then there are some who use really tuality you are not. The real designer bags are all quality materials, real leather etc. but yet they are still knock-offs.
The most copied bags today are Chanel, Coach, Gucci and Louis Vuitton. You can find those knock-offs ranging from $50 to $300. Would you willingly pay that much for a fake Chanel bag? Some say they would because the thought is that you save money, which is a better quality and as I always like to point out, they are an investment, because they maintain their value and in many cases even increase in value.
While online shopping seems to be the best way to find the best bargains we must still be very cautious from who we buy and how we buy. Some sites only accept money orders or bank transfers. If you MUST buy a questionable item you should only deal with sites that either accept credit cards or Paypal. This way you are still somewhat protected. It is nearly impossible to get a refund if you pay wit money orders or bank transfers.
The best sources to buy your genuine Chanel bags are through authorized dealers. Such as some of the big name luxury stores such as Macy's. Online you could try fabulous, Ashfords and sometimes even eBay! Again the same applies for eBay do not pay with money orders or bank transfers.
One of the easiest ways to spot a fake Chanel bag for example is to examine the stitches. The real thing will have perfect stitches that are evenly spaced out and perfectly aligned. Anything less than this would not even pass the quality control tests of the designer manufacturers.
